MacOS Catalina 10.15.1 Beta 3 Released for Testing
Apple has released the third beta version of MacOS Catalina 10.15.1 to Mac users who are participating in the beta system software beta testing programs.
MacOS Catalina 10.15.1 beta 3 likely continues to focus on bug fixes and other improvements to the MacOS Catalina operating system. There are also some changes to the Photos app, and support for additional GPUs. Presumably macOS 10.15.1 will also include the new Emoji that are included in the concurrent beta of iOS 13.2.
Some users have reported various problems with MacOS Catalina, both during installation and after running the latest macOS. It would be reasonable to expect that, if some of the problems encountered are due to bugs, they may be addressed and resolved in future software updates to MacOS Catalina, possibly including macOS 10.15.1.
Mac users who are actively involved in the MacOS beta testing programs can find “macOS Catalina 10.15.1 beta 3” available as an update to download now from the “Software Update” section of System Preferences.
The new beta build arrived first to developers and usually is soon followed by the same build release being available to public beta users.
Technically anyone can choose to run MacOS Catalina public beta by enrolling in the public beta testing program and installing the software, but doing so is not recommended for most users as beta system software is less reliable than final releases.
Apple issues multiple beta versions of system software before releasing a final version to the general public, therefore it would be a decent assumption to imagine the final version of macOS 10.15.1 Catalina being available later this fall.
Greaaaaaat: updated to 10.15 yesterday; woke up my e-mail was dead today. Spent the day screwing with it. Seems to be 85% working(again), now..
