macOS Big Sur 11.3 Beta 1 Released for Testing
Apple has released the first beta version of macOS Big Sur 11.3 to users enrolled in the beta testing programs for Mac system software.
The new beta arrives a day after macOS Big Sur 11.2 update was released to the general public, and iOS 14.5 beta 1 and iPadOS 14.5 beta 1 were released for iPhone and iPad beta testers.
macOS Big Sur 11.3 beta 1 likely focuses on bug fixes and enhancements, but it also includes a handful of new smaller features and improvements that are being worked on, including bringing support for PS5 and Xbox Series X game controllers to the Mac.
Mac users who are participating in the beta testing programs for macOS can find the latest macOS 11.3 beta 1 update available now from the “Software Update” system preference panel.
The most recent stable version of macOS available is currently macOS Big Sur 11.2.
Apple typically goes through several beta builds before issuing a final version, which can serve as an indicator for when a new software update will become available to the general public. In this case with it being the first beta, it’s reasonable to expect macOS 11.3 update to not be finalized and released for multiple weeks at a minimum.
