Release Candidate of iOS 14.6, iPadOS 14.6, macOS Big Sur 11.4 Released for Testing
Release Candidate builds of iOS 14.6, iPadOS 14.6, macOS Big Sur 11.4, watchOS 7.5, and tvOS 14.6 have been released to users participating in the various beta testing programs for Apple system software.
A release candidate is often the final build of a beta development cycle, before being released to the general public. Thus it’s reasonable to expect the final versions of iOS 14.6, macOS 11.4 Big Sur, and iPadOS 14.6 will be available to the general public in the near future.
iOS 14.6 and iPadOS 14.6 include bug fixes and other small enhancements to the iPhone and iPad operating systems.
macOS Big Sur 11.4 also includes bug fixes and small enhancements to the Mac operating system.
Users who are enrolled in the beta programs can find the Release Candidate build available to download now through the respective Software Update mechanisms on their devices or computers. In iOS and iPadOS, that’s through the Settings app, whereas in macOS it’s through System Preferences.
Users enrolled in the watchOS and tvOS beta testing programs can find the release candidate builds for those devices available through those devices Software Update functionality as well.
The most recent stable builds of system software available to the general public are currently iOS 14.5.1, iPadOS 14.5.1, and macOS Big Sur 11.3.1.
