macOS Monterey 12.2 Beta 2 Released for Testing
Apple has issued the second beta build of macOS Monterey 12.2 to users participating in the beta testing programs for system software for the Macintosh.
There are no obvious major changes or features in macOS Monterey 12.2 beta 2 as of yet, so it’s assumed the release will focus on fixing bugs, issues, and problems with MacOS Monterey.
Universal Control, the feature that allows a Mac to control other Macs and iPads with a single mouse and keyboard, is expected to arrive sometime in Spring of 2022, though it’s uncertain if that will be included in macOS 12.2 or a later macOS Monterey release.
If you’re actively enrolled in the macOS Monterey beta testing program, you can find MacOS Monterey 12.2 beta 2 available to download now via Software Update.
No accompanying iOS 15.2 release was made available, which is also in beta but apparently not quite on the same schedule yet.
The latest stable builds of macOS system software are currently macOS Monterey 12.1 update for macOS Monterey users, and macOS Big Sur 11.6.2 for macOS Big Sur users.
Spent many hours debugging the HDMI port on my macbook pro 2015 15inch. Only to find out that it is bug. That will teach me to use the beta as a daily driver :(
So far, not at all impressed with Monterey as an operating system. I was hoping for a more stable release after Big Sur but it just seems like what follows isn’t any better. I do now think Apple needs to cut back on the OS release schedules and focus more on keeping the OS stable.
