Beta 4 of iOS 15.6, macOS Monterey 12.5, iPadOS 15.6, Released for Testing
Apple has released the fourth beta versions of iOS 15.6, iPadOS 15.6, and macOS Monterey 12.5.
The new beta builds for iOS 15 and macOS Monterey are concurrent and separate from the ongoing beta versions of the next generation operating systems, versioned as iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS Ventura 13, which are due out this fall.
No new features or major changes are expected in iOS 15.6, iPadOS 15.6, and macOS Monterey 12.5, and instead it’s likely the versions will focus on bug fixes and security enhancements.
If you’re currently enrolled in the beta testing programs for iOS 15 and macOS Monterey, you’ll find the fourth beta builds available to download now.
For iOS and iPadOS, go to Settings > General > Software Update.
For MacOS, go to System Preferences > Software Update.
With the fourth beta build being available now, it’s probable that iOS 15.6, iPadOS 15.6, and macOS Monterey 12.5 final versions will be released in the coming weeks.
The latest stable builds of system software are iOS 15.5, iPadOS 15.5, and macOS Monterey 12.4.
Most beta testers are likely running iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS Ventura 13 on their test hardware, given those releases have some interesting new features and broader changes to app test compatibility for.
