iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia release date

In all of the hubbub about the new iPhone 16 series and release candidate builds for macOS Sequoia, iOS 18, and iPadOS 18, you might have missed when Apple announced what the official release dates will be for all of their new operating systems.

Let’s clear that up right now so that you can be ready to download the install the iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, watchOS 11, and tvOS 18 onto your eligible devices.

The release date for the new suite of Apple operating systems, including iOS 18, iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, watchOS 11, and macOS Sequoia, is Monday, September 16, 2024.

The software updates will be available through the typical software update mechanism on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, or Apple TV.

Apple often releases new software updates around 10AM PDT, though there’s no guarantee that’s when these particular updates will show up.

Can I update from the beta to the final?

    I always like to wait a month or two for all the bugs to be fixed before upgrading any of my Apple devices. There are always some unknowns and reversing that upgrade on a iPhone or iPad isn’t so simple. I have yet to see a real reason to upgrade early.
