Beta 1 of iOS & iPadOS 13.5.5, macOS Catalina 10.15.6 Released for Testing
Apple has released the first beta versions of iOS 13.5.5, iPadOS 13.5.5, and MacOS Catalina 10.15.6.
Presumably the new beta builds focus on bug fixes and enhancements to the various Apple operating systems, though it’s possible new features and improvements are being worked on as well.
iPhone and iPad users who are enrolled in the iOS and IpadOS beta programs can find the first iOS 13.5.5 and PadOS 13.5.5 beta build available to download now from the Settings app “Software Update” section.
Mac users that are enrolled in the Mac beta programs can find macOS Catalina 10.15.6 beta 1 available to download from the Software Update section of System Preferences on an eligible Mac as well.
Apple usually goes through several beta builds before unveiling a final version to the public, suggesting that final builds of iOS & iPadOS 13.5.5 and macOS 10.15.6 are a ways away.
The most recently available stable builds of system software are currently iOS 13.5.1 and iPadOS 13.5.1 for iPhone and iPad and macOS 10.15.5 supplemental update for Mac.
Beta testing seems broken both for Apple and Microsoft Insider program. Somehow a lot of bugs slip by in beta and we end up dealing with them in final releases. I used to test for Apple religiously thinking I was doing some good. But I quickly realized those of us who were committed to solving issues were a minority. Most simply use the beta releases as a means to brag about having the latest and greatest. They never bother to report issues.
Catalina 10.15.6 Released? Really? Where? When?
