If you try to install an older Safari extension in modern Mac Safari versions, you will see an error message stating “Safari no longer supports the unsafe extension “Extension name”. You can find newer extensions reviewed by Apple in the App Store or Safari Extensions Gallery.”

This error occurs because the latest versions of Safari in MacOS do not support extensions that do not have a certificate, or are obtained from outside the Mac App Store and Safari Extensions Gallery, as they are considered unsafe. Nonetheless, some advanced users may want to run these ‘unsafe’ Safari extensions anyway.

Apple has released iOS 12.1.4 for iPhone and iPad, the new update resolves the serious Group FaceTime security flaw that existed in prior iOS 12.1.x builds that allowed for unauthorized eavesdropping of a FaceTime call. Want to turn off sound on an iPad and mute the audio? You can do that rather simply with a few different methods, though some may be easy to overlook. The iPad and iPad Pro have volume adjustment buttons which can serve as mute, and there’s also a designated software mute switch for alerts which when activated will silence the sound coming from the device. While older iPad models had a hardware mute switch, the latest iPad and iPad Pro models removed the physical button in lieu of the hardware volume buttons or onscreen silencing function that when toggled mutes all alert sound and audio output from the iPad speakers or any connected headphones.

Some iPhone users have discovered cellular data issues after installing the iOS 12.1.3 update, showing “No service”, no cellular data, no cellular reception bars, and sometimes seeing a “Cellular Update Failed” message similar to what was happening with some iPhones after installing iOS 12.1.2. This seems to mostly impact iPhones on particular cellular networks, but it’s not entirely clear why some iPhone devices will experience cellular data problems after installing the iOS 12.1.3 update while others don’t.

Often some of the routine fixes for cellular data not working on iPhone will resolve this problem, including making sure that cellular data is actually enabled and resetting network settings.
