Some Mac users running macOS Ventura have noticed a series of “operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred” error messages when attempting to drag and drop files in the Finder from macOS Ventura to a virtual volume, like what’s often used on a Micro:bit, Raspberry Pi Pico, AdaFruit, CircuitPython / Pyboard, DAPLink, or other RP2040-based boards, and even some USB flash drives.

The full error message when attempting to drag and drop UF2 or hex files in the Finder to the target volume is usually “The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code 100093).” with the same 100093 error code.

A workaround is available for Raspberry Pi Pico users however, and it relies on using the command line cp command to copy files manually through Terminal.

Apple has included a visible ‘Search’ button on the Home Screen of modern versions of iOS 16 and newer, that when tapped will bring up the devices search function.

You can also still pull down on the Home Screen to activate the Search feature on iPhone though, so if you find the search button to be redundant, you may appreciate removing the Search button from the Home Screen of iPhone (or iPad).

Some iPad Magic Keyboard users have discovered that the Magic Keyboard randomly stops working, or the keyboard keys will work while the Magic Keyboard trackpad stops working.

Apple has released updates for iPhone and iPad users who continue to run the iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 operating systems. The updates are versioned as iOS 15.7.1 and iPadOS 15.7.1 for iPhone and iPad, respectively.

These updates are available separately from the freshly released iPadOS 16.1 for iPad and iOS 16.1 for iPhone, and are available either for users who are unable to install iOS/iPadOS 16 on their devices, or who do not yet want to.

The majority of iPhone and iPad users should install the 16.1 releases since they offer new features, but for those staying put, installing iOS 15.7.1 offers important security updates to their devices.

Apple has released macOS Monterey 12.6.1 and macOS Big Sur 11.7.1 to users who continue to run the Monterey and Big Sur operating systems.

Those software updates are available separately to users from the just released macOS Ventura 13.0 major update, should they choose to forego the Ventura update for the time being.

The macOS 12.6.1 and 11.7.1 updates are said to provide important security updates, and therefore are recommended for all Mac users running Big Sur or Monterey to install.

Updates to Safari are also available for both Monterey and Big Sur as well, which includes bug fixes, security enhancements, and support for a few new features like passkeys and shared tab groups.
