Best of 2014 Apps and Games from Apple

Apple has unveiled their picks for the best iPhone and iPad apps and games of 2014. The list includes some apps that you’re probably familiar with, and likely a notable amount of games or apps that you’ve never heard of, which can make these Apple provided “best of” lists a good way of discovering new apps and games.

You can find the complete interactive list here in the App Store on your iPhone, iPad, or through the iTunes app in Mac OS X or Windows.

A linked list of some of the notable select top iOS apps was put together by BGR and is included below for convenience, some of the apps are free and many are paid or have in-app purchases to gain additional features. These are shown in no particular order, other than the app of the year and game of the year appearing at the top.

The complete list can be found prominently on the iOS App Store on your iPhone or iPad.

Separately, Apple also unveiled their picks for best music, movies, TV shows, books, and podcasts for 2014, as well as picks for the best games and apps for the Mac. Those lists can also be found on the App Store, Mac App Store, and iTunes Store as well.

I wonder what all those apps are for. Since I don’t have time to click on every one I guess I’ll never know.

    The apps I use daily:
    Podcast
    Audible
    Facebook
    Beats Music
    ToDoMatrix
    WeatherBug
    Paperless
    WeatherClock
    Chess Time
    Kindle
    Day One
    DataVault

Notice how none of these are on apples list?

There are other apps I like but only use sporadically.
I don’t use any of the apps listed in this article.

I looked at this list and I thought, wow here’s a bunch of apps I would never use!

I use about 4 third party apps on my iPhone and that’s it, any time I’ve tried to branch out I have found most others to be boring, irrelevant, and frankly a waste of time. Am I alone in this? Are apps just the coolest thing and I am not cool?
