Beta 4 of iOS 10, macOS Sierra, tvOS 10 & watchOS 3 Download Available
Apple has released the fourth developer beta versions of iOS 10, watchOS 3, tvOS 10, and macOS Sierra 10.12. Additionally, the third public beta versions of iOS 10 and macOS Sierra are now available.
While the initial beta 4 builds are for the developer previews, accompanying public beta versions are typically released soon behind, in this case a day later. It is worth noting the public beta versioning is one release off and behind the developer beta, for example iOS 10 Public Beta 3 is the same as iOS 10 Developer Beta 4. Despite the labeling difference, the build numbers and release are basically the same.
Users who are running a current beta version of iOS 10 can find the latest build available now from the Software Update mechanism in the Settings app.
tvOS 10 beta 4 and watchOS 3 beta 4 can also be downloaded from their appropriate Over-the-Air update mechanisms.
MacOS Sierra beta 4 is also available from the Mac App Store through the Updates section for users running a prior Sierra beta release.
Beta system software is notoriously buggy and unreliable, making it less than ideal for day-to-day usage by most people. Nonetheless, many users choose to participate in the beta programs out of interest, particularly by installing the iOS 10 public beta or installing macOS Sierra public beta. Keep in mind you can downgrade iOS 10 beta back to iOS 9.x.x and likewise you can downgrade macOS Sierra as well, as long as you have made backups before updating to the beta OS builds.
The download of macOS Sierra Beta 4 hangs on my MacBook Pro at ‘Calculating…. Remaining’. The App Store does recognize the available update, but the download does not start. Did anyone else have this problem, and is there a solution?
yup, same problem but can’t find a fix
