Apple Event Scheduled for October 18, New MacBook Pro Expected
Apple has announced an Apple Event for October 18, 2021, at 10 AM PDT. The virtual event will be watchable online via the Apple website and the Apple TV app.
According to rumors, a redesigned MacBook Pro is to be expected, possibly alongside other updated Mac hardware.
The new MacBook Pro is expected to be powered by a more powerful Apple Silicon CPU, available in both 14″ and 16″ OLED displays, with up to 32GB RAM. Rumors also suggest the new MacBook Pro may have a few more ports than existing models, possibly adding back an HDMI port and SD card slot.
Rumors should always be taken with a grain of salt, so set your expectations accordingly.

And for the wallpaper geeks out there, here’s a 3600×2000 wallpaper from the Apple Event graphic:
I’ve mostly been disappointed in the Apple “events” last few years.
I was impressed with the M1 Mac’s which were really a leap for Mac’s in performance. Only because Apple tended to use low powered Intel CPU’s in many of it’s Mac lineup. But what can Apple do with the Apple silicon to convince us that the Macbook Pro is truly beyond what the M1 already does? I suspect a couple more cores and a bump in graphics performance. I expect the real performance M chips to be saved for the Mac Pro later next year. Big question will be availability given the silicon crisis happening right now.
