tvOS 16

Interested in checking out the tvOS 16 public beta on your Apple TV? Much like how you can run the public betas of iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS Ventura, you can also give tvOS 16 public beta a try if you’re adventurous and up for it.

tvOS 16 doesn’t have a ton of crazy new features, but it does support new game controllers like the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con and Pro controller, and there is more integration with tvOS apps and apps for iPhone and iPad.

So, want to check out tvOS 16 public beta? Why not?

As usual with beta system software, expect that tvOS 16 public beta will be buggier than usual and performance may not be as expected. Therefore it’s generally only a good idea to install beta system software onto non-primary devices. Using beta system software is generally only appropriate for more advanced users.

Which Apple TV supports tvOS 16?

tvOS 16 will run on the Apple TV HD, and Apple TV 4k, or newer. Earlier Apple TV models do not support tvOS 16.

Apple has said the final version of tvOS 16 will debut in the fall.
