iOS 16 Beta 4 & iPadOS 16 Beta 4 Available to Download
iOS 16 beta 4 and iPadOS 16 beta 4 are now available to download for users enrolled in the beta testing programs for iPhone and iPad system software.
Typically the developer beta build rolls out first, and is soon followed by the same build as a public beta version.
Any iPhone and iPad user who is actively enrolled in the beta testing programs will find iOS 16 beta 4 and iPadOS 16 beta 4 available to download now. You can get the latest update from Settings app > General > Software Update.
iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 include various new features for iPhone and iPad. iOS 16 for iPhone includes a customizable lock screen capability with widgets, new Focus mode features, an ability to edit Messages, an ability to schedule emails in Mail app, new iCloud Photos Library features, and more. iPadOS 16 for iPad includes the features for iOS 16 minus the customizable lock screen, and M1 iPad users gain a new multitasking interface called Stage Manager.
While any user can technically install the beta versions (either through the iOS 16 public beta or dev beta, or iPadOS 16 public beta or dev beta), it’s worth remembering that the beta experience is buggier than usual, and thus should only be experienced on secondary hardware that is not mission critical.
If you’re curious about running the betas, make sure you have an iPhone compatible with iOS 16 compatible or an iPad compatible with iPadOS 16.
The final version of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 will be available this fall, according to Apple.
Separately, macOS Ventura 13 beta 4 is also available, for Mac users testing beta system software.
