Public Beta 2 of iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS Ventura Released
Apple has released the second public beta versions of iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS Ventura. The public beta build matches the developer beta build that was released the day prior.
iOS 16 includes a new customizable lock screen for iPhone, new Focus mode features, scheduling emails in the Mail app, an edit function in Messages, new iCloud Photos Library features, and more.
iPadOS 16 includes the features of iOS 16 minus the lock screen customization, and M1 iPad users will gain a new Stage Manager multitasking interface.
macOS Ventura for Mac includes the ability to use an iPhone as a webcam, a new Stage Manager multitasking interface, the ability to schedule sending emails in Mail app, editing iMessages, the inclusion of a Weather app and Clock app, and more.
iOS/ipadOS users who are actively enrolled in the beta testing programs for iPhone and iPad can find iOS 16 public beta 2 and iPadOS 16 public beta 2 in the Settings app > General > Software Update.
macOS users in the public beta program can find the latest macOS Ventura public beta 2 build available in Apple menu > System Settings > Software Update.
If you’re an adventurous user who is curious about running beta system software, and doesn’t mind the buggier experience, you can go about installing iOS 16 public beta on iPhone, iPadOS 16 public beta on iPad, or macOS Ventura public beta on a Mac. This is only recommended on secondary devices, since the beta experience for each operating system is not stable compared to a final build.
The final versions of iOS 16, iPadOS 16, and macOS Ventura will be released this fall.
