Tor Browser for Apple Silicon Macs is Now Available
Tor, the web browser that allows users to browse the web anonymously without being tracked or surveilled, has updated the Tor client for Mac to have native Apple Silicon support.
Tor works by distributing your web traffic through a series of relays, thereby hiding the origin of the traffic. Its usage is often encouraged by privacy advocates who live or work in states with rampant state snooping or repressive governments, and for users who have a threat environment where their web browsing usage puts them at some sort of risk.
If you have an Apple Silicon Mac with an M1 or M2 chip and you’ve been waiting for a native Tor client, this is it.
Aside from native Apple Silicon support, Tor is not new, and it has been around for quite a while, and using TOR on the Mac is just a matter of using the dedicated app to access the web.
