Public Beta 3 of iOS 18, macOS Sequoia, iPadOS 18 Available for Testing
Apple has released the third public beta of iOS 18, MacOS Sequoia, and iPadOS 18, for users enrolled in the public beta testing program. These public beta builds match the 5th developer beta builds that were issued the day prior.
There are also new public beta builds for tvOS 18 and watchOS 11 for those beta testing those versions of system software too.
MacOS Sequoia includes new wallpapers, Passwords app, AI Apple Intelligence features, new screen savers, changes to Notes and Photos app, improvements to Safari, and perhaps most notable is the excellent new iPhone Mirroring feature which lets you interact with an iPhone from your Mac. Any interested user can install MacOS Sequoia public beta though beta system software is buggy and not recommended for most Mac users.
iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 include new features as well, including dark mode icons and widgets, a dedicated Passwords app, color tinting of icons and the ability to hide icon text, Control Center customizations, Game Mode for iPhone, Calculator app for iPad, a weirdly redesigned Photos app interface that is continuously being refined and will take getting used to, Apple Intelligence AI features, and more. Any iPhone or iPad user can enroll to beta test and install iOS 18 public beta or iPadOS 18 public beta onto their device, but beta system software is much buggier than final versions and is therefore not recommended for most casual users.
How to Install iOS 18 Public Beta 3 & iPadOS 18 Public Beta 3
- Open the Settings app
- Go to General and then to Software Update
- Choose to Update Now to install iOS 18 public beta 3 or iPadOS 18 public beta 3
How to Install macOS Sequoia Public Beta 3
- Go to Apple menu, then select System Settings
- Go to “General”, and choose “Software Update”
- Select to update now to install macOS Sequoia Public Beta 3
Whether you’re installing public beta 3 of iOS 18, iPadOS 18, or MacOS Sequoia 15, you will need to let the device restart to finish installing.
Apple has said that macOS Sequoia 15, iOS 18, iPadOS 18, watchOS 11, and tvOS 18 will be released this fall.
