Remember, beta versions of system software are works in progress. This means many features are being actively worked on, may be subject to change, and may not be finalized or even stable or usable quite yet.
One of the great things about running beta system software from Apple is the “Feedback” app allows you to submit feedback directly to Apple regarding the operating system, bugs, issues, features, and feedback in general. If you do end up running the betas on your iPhone or iPad, be an active participant, and provide feedback to Apple using the Feedback.app mechanism. You never know, your suggestions or bug reports might make a difference!
All future beta updates to iOS/iPadOS 26 will arrive through Software Update, as long as you stay in the beta program.
The final version of iOS 26 for iPhone, and iPadOS 26 for iPad, will debut in the fall. Assuming history is a predictor of the future, the final versions of iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 will also be available through the Software Update mechanism, where users will be able to update directly from beta versions to the stable final releases.
