OS X 10.10.5 Beta 3 Released for Developer Testing
Apple has released the third beta version of OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 to users participating in the developer beta program. The new build arrives as 14F25a and presumably includes bug fixes and security enhancements.
Mac users interested in running the latest Yosemite beta can find it available from the Mac App Store updates section, or from the Apple developer website. A reboot is required to complete the installation.
Given that OS X El Capitan is simultaneously in development and includes new features and enhancements, most Mac users running beta system software are likely to be more intrigued by the OS X 10.11 betas. Nonetheless, OS X 10.10.5 will be an important update to Mac users who are running Yosemite when it becomes widely available, as it remains an important part of maintaining a computer to keep operating system software up to date.
The most recent publicly available version of OS X Yosemite is currently 10.10.4. There is no known schedule for OS X 10.10.5 to be released to the general public, but typically system software goes through multiple beta versions before a final release.
