Apple has issued macOS Sequoia 15.6.1 as a security update for Mac users running the Sequoia operating system. Apple says the update contains “important security fixes” and is therefore recommended for all users.

The particular exploit that has been patched pertains to malicious image files, and given that a huge number of people regularly encounter image files and share things like memes and funny pictures that are found online, it’s a good idea to install these updates as soon as you can on your Apple devices. While it’s unlikely that you have been impacted by this particular exploit, it’s still good practice to install these type of security updates onto your devices right away.

The same security patches are also available for other MacOS versions including MacOS Sonoma 14.7.8 and macOS Ventura 13.7.8, along with iPhone and iPad versioned as iOS 18.6.2 and iPadOS 18.6.2.

The beta release schedule is accelerating as the OS 26 operating systems are finalizing towards their inevitable fall release timeline.

The beta development cycle of Apple operating systems is accelerating, as Apple has released iOS 26 beta 7 for iPhone, along with iPadOS 26 beta 7 for iPad. While those are developer beta versions, Apple simultaneously released the same builds as public beta versions, labeled as iOS 26 public beta 4.

Apple has released two updates as iOS 18.6.1 for iPhone along with watchOS 11.6.1 for Apple Watch, and the combination of the two system software updates returns the blood oxygen monitoring feature back to Apple Watch. Previously, Apple had to remove the blood oxygen monitoring feature from Apple Watch Series 9, 10, and the latest Ultra 2 models, because of an ongoing legal dispute with another tech company.

No other features or security patches are included in these releases, but if you’re an Apple Watch Series 9, 10, or Ultra 2 owner (or shopper, Apple Watch 10 is $100 off from Amazon) this is certainly a series of updates you’ll want to get so that you can get the blood oxygen feature back on your device.

ChatGPT is wildly popular for good reason as an incredibly useful artificial inteligence and LLM tool. But OpenAI recently introduced ChatGPT 5, and while generally every release of ChatGPT has been a significant improvement and well received, the same is not entirely to be said about the introduction of ChatGPT 5, which tends to regurgitate things found on reddit in a kind of unemotional corporate speak – hardly the ChatGPT experience most users enjoyed or are looking for.
