Buy iPad Online with Amazon

buy ipad on amazon

Buying an iPad just got easier, and in many cases cheaper. Amazon is now offering the iPad for sale directly through their website, and includes free shipping in the purchase. It’s also worth noting that if you purchase through Amazon, they do not add many local and sales taxes.*

Amazon currently offers the 32GB and 64GB Wi-Fi models, priced at $599 and $699 with free shipping. It is expected for the other iPad versions to be available soon.

The iPad was previously only available through resellers on the Amazon website, which often marked up the price beyond the MSRP. The expansion of the iPad onto the Amazon storefront is part of Apple’s continued retail expansion of the device, which also includes Best Buy and Target. Fresh rumors suggest that the iPad may even be available at Walmart stores soon, possibly in time for the upcoming holiday sales season.

*Note: in some states you are required to manually report online purchases for taxation. Be sure to know your local tax laws regarding online purchases.

This has gotten off topic and I am moderating comments with what may include bad advice.

The bottom line: each state has different tax laws, know your local tax laws regarding online purchases and do the right thing.

This is old news, the online shopping loophole has been around as long as the internet. All online retailers behave this way, if there is a physical presence in the state they will tax, otherwise they leave it up to the consumer.

  4. Brookie, there is something illegal about not paying use taxes. Follow the link I posted. Google it.

The exact same thing applies for anything you buy while out-of-state.

I can just buy it online and ship it to Grandmas house in Jersey City. You know what, she’ll be home to sign for the FedEx truck too and I’ll get a nice home cooked meal. Perfect we got a deal here. Thanks again Grandma have a kiss.

  6. I’m not saying I agree with it, but out-of-state use tax IS enforced, and telling people to buy on Amazon to avoid paying taxes is bad advice. If they get picked for an audit, they are screwed: http://news.cnet.com/States-push-to-tax-Net-shopping/2100-1028_3-6060450.html?tag=mncol;txt

Oh give me a break. Tax fraud? Buying items online and not paying tax is a loophole that will probably be closed in the next few years.

  9. If you want to live in a state without sales tax, pick one and move to it

  10. Um, stuff you buy on Amazon is not tax free. If you fail to report it and pay the taxes yourself, you are committing tax fraud, which I wouldn’t go advertising around.

This is long overdue and this is why I shop on Amazon
