iOS 8 logo Apple has released the fourth beta version of iOS 8.4 to users participating in the developer testing program, the same build is also available to those in the iOS Public Beta program, though it’s labeled as iOS 8.4 Public Beta 3. The latest build arrives as 12H4125a and includes the newly refreshed Music app, complete with the Apple Music service.

The primary focus of iOS 8.4 seems to be the inclusion of the new Music app, though the accompanying release notes to the download mention that bug fixes and other improvements are included in the release.

Those running an earlier version of iOS 8.4 beta can find the latest version available as an Over-The-Air update through the Software Update mechanism on the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Developers can also choose to download the beta IPSW from the developer center website.

I hope it fixes a horribly slow Safari on my iPad. I’ve done everything including reseting the system and it still doesn’t work. No one seems to want to answer on Apple Discussions either.

I am a part of Apple’s public beta testers and when I updated to this beta of 8.4, the new music app and Apple Music service weren’t there. Is this just for registered developers and not public beta testers?

Any word on whether or not this release will have a fix for the Arabic text message crashing bug? I’d like to be able to turn my text message notifications back on without having to worry about, potentially, getting hit.

iOS 8.4 will likely fix that bug yes.

For what it’s worth, I have notifications on and it hasn’t been a problem, as long as your friends are nice and don’t send the message it’s no issue. Plus you can have Siri ‘read all messages’ and it will clear it, then you can delete the offending message to get around the crash.

Oh, it’s not my friends I’m worried about. We’re all mature adults. It’s those, occasional, texts from random unknown addresses that concern me. Had one of those pop up this morning. I did take the extra precaution of having Siri read it for me to make sure it was “safe”. Then, I opened the app and, promptly, deleted it.

I would assume so, the iOS 9 Beta 1 release has fixed the issue
