iTunes 12.2.2 available to update

iTunes 12.2.2 update has been released, which includes multiple bug fixes aimed at improving the Apple Music streaming service, as well as the applications general stability and performance.

The small update to iTunes is available to download now from the Mac App Store Updates section, or you can trigger the update by re-launching iTunes on Mac OS X or a Windows PC.

Release notes accompanying the download mention that you can now click on a “Beats 1” banner to view information about what’s currently playing as well as broadcast schedules for the pop music channel. Additionally, you can now view a list of artists you’re following on Apple Music, iTunes will no longer lose its place if you choose to go back a page in Apple Music, the update fixes a sorting issue with artists, playlists should now match up from the action menu to the playlist library, and finally, artists can now share thoughts, photos, music, and media from the service with the Connect feature.

iTunes 12.2.2 update

If you don’t use Apple Music and hid it instead, then iTunes 12.2.2 update won’t have much to offer in terms of obvious changes, though it’s always a good idea to keep software updated, and typically the latest versions of iOS also require the latest version of iTunes to be installed to sync properly with a computer.

Separately, the OS X Yosemite 10.10.5 update, iOS 8.4.1 update, and a security update for older versions of OS X are also available to download.

It has NOT helped with CPU useage. At the moment I have itunes open on a Windows 10 64bit machine. I am not using it, it is just open in the background and it is using 35% CPU ( 8cores).
