iOS 11 Public Beta 2, macOS High Sierra Public Beta 2 Available to Download
Apple has released the second public beta releases of macOS High Sierra and iOS 11 to users enrolled in the public beta testing programs.
The new beta builds appear to focus primarily on resolving various bugs, along with minor adjustments to various features introduced to earlier betas of iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra 10.13.
The public beta builds arrive a few days after the developer releases of iOS 11 beta 3 and macOS High Sierra beta 3 were made available, but otherwise appear to be largely the same.
iOS 11 public beta 2 can be found to download now via the iOS Settings app within the Software Update mechanism.
MacOS 10.13 High Sierra Public Beta 2 is available via the Updates tab in the Mac App Store.
The public beta program is open to anyone who chooses to enroll and participate, but be forewarned that beta releases of system software are notoriously unreliable and less stable than a final release. It’s easy to install iOS 11 public beta and similarly simple to install the MacOS High Sierra public beta, but be absolutely certain you follow the beta testing directions and backup the devices and all important data before attempting to run beta system software. Generally speaking, beta system software should not be run by casual users, as beta builds are suited for advanced users who don’t mind experimental software builds.
Separately, tvOS 11 public beta 2 is also available for users interested in beta testing new system software on their Apple TV.
Final versions of macOS High Sierra and iOS 11 will be released to the general public this fall.
