iPadOS 15 Beta 1 Download Available Now for Developers
Apple has released the first beta version of iPadOS 15 for developer users. A developer beta release means that the beta is only available to users enrolled in the Apple Developer program. A public beta of iPadOS 15 will debut in July.
iPadOS 15 includes a variety of new features including the ability to place widgets anywhere on the Home Screen, improved multitasking access and capabilities, a Quick Notes feature, the addition of App Library to iPadOS, and more. Because iPadOS 15 is under active development, these features may change or be modified before the final release of iPadOS 15 in the fall.
Because iPadOS 15 developer beta 1 is intended for software developers and advanced users, the beta build is likely to be buggier and less stable than even the first public beta version. Therefore casual users who are interested in checking out the beta release should simply wait for the iPadOS 15 public beta to arrive. Technically speaking, anyone with an Apple Developer account can download and install the iPadOS 15 beta, however.

How to Download iPadOS 15 Developer Beta 1
Be sure to back up the iPad before installing any beta version of iPadOS software. Developers can download the iPadOS 15 beta to any compatible iPad by doing the following:
- From iPad, download the iPadOS 15 beta profile via http://developer.apple.com/download/
- Choose to download and install the beta profile onto the iPad
- Go to “Settings” app on iPad
- Choose ‘General’ and “Software Update”
- Select to download and install iPadOS 15 Developer Beta onto the iPad
Beta system software is typically unreliable, and therefore only appropriate for advanced users and developers to run.
If you’d like to experience iPadOS 15 beta on your iPad, iPad Pro, iPad Air, or iPad mini, a better idea would be to wait until the public beta is available in July.
Other developer betas are also available now, including iOS 15 beta 1 for iPhone and iPod touch, macOS Monterey beta 1 for Mac, and watchOS 8 beta 1 for Apple Watch.
The final version of iPadOS 15 is set to debut in the fall, alongside the final versions of iOS 15, macOS Monterey, tvOS 15, and watchOS 8.
The beta profiles are flying around social media if anyone wants to download one. I have heard this is really buggy, but ipadOS 15 is more exciting than the other releases if you ask me.
