Beta 3 of iOS 16.4, iPadOS 16.4, MacOS Ventura 13.3, Available for Testing

The third beta versions of iOS 16.4, iPadOS 16.4, and MacOS Ventura 13.3 have been released to individuals enrolled in the beta testing programs for Apple system software.

While no new significant features are expected, some users will rejoice in knowing that iOS 16.4, iPadOS 16.4, and macOS Ventura 13.3 will include new Emoji icons, including a moose, a hair pick, donkey, maracas, flute, goose, high fiving hands, jellyfish, ginger root, peas in a pod, and more. Of course, bug fixes and security enhancements will also be included in the software update.


Users actively enrolled in the beta testing programs will find the software updates available now.

For Mac users in the beta testing programs, macOS Ventura 13.3 beta 3 can be downloaded through  Apple menu > System Settings > Software Update.

For iPhone and iPad beta testers, iOS 16.4 beta 3 and iPadOS 16.4 beta 3 are available to download via Settings > General > Software Update..

Usually Apple runs through several beta releases before issuing a final version, offering a loose timeline for public availability, which is likely still weeks away.

While running beta versions is generally only appropriate for advanced users and developers, keeping track of beta updates provides a look into when system software updates will be released for Apple devices, along with any potential changes or features.

The latest final builds of Apple system software for Apple devices are presently iOS 16.3.1 for iPhone, iPadOS 16.3.1 for iPad, macOS Ventura 13.2.1 for Mac, iOS 15.7.3 & iOS 12.5.7 for older iPhone and iPad models,, macOS Big Sur 11.7.4 for Mac, and macOS Monterey 12.6.3 for Mac as well.
