Updated Third Betas of iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS Sonoma Released
Apple has released updated beta versions of iOS 17 beta 3, iPadOS 17 beta 3, and macOS Sonoma beta 3, for users who are enrolled in the beta testing programs for Apple system software.
It is not entirely clear what is included in the updated beta 3 releases, however it’s possible the updated betas either include something related to the upcoming public beta, or perhaps include the same security fix that was issued in the pulled Rapid Response Updates (hopefully minus the problem that led those updates to being yanked). It’s also possible for the updated beta versions to be for something completely different.
How to Update to the New MacOS Sonoma Beta 3
Installing the new beta 3 update of macOS Sonoma is just like installing any other update:
- Go to the ο£Ώ Apple menu, and then go to “System Settings”
- Go to “General”, and then go to “Software Update”
- Click on “Update Now” when “MacOS Sonoma 14 Beta 3” shows as available
The update for Mac is about 870MB and requires the Mac to restart to complete installation.
How to Update to the New iOS/iPadOS 17 Beta 3
Installing the new release of beta 3 for iOS/iPadOS 17 is also a familiar process:
- Open the “Settings” app on iPhone or iPad
- Go to “General”, and then go to “Software Update”
- Select “Download and Install” for iOS 17 Beta 3 or iPadOS 17 Beta 3
The update for iPhone and iPad is not too huge and the device must restart to complete installation.
If you notice anything significantly different or new in any of these new betas, share with us in the comments.
