Beta 5 of MacOS Ventura 13.5, iOS 16.6, iPadOS 16.6 Available for Testing
The fifth beta version of iOS 16.6, MacOS Ventura 13.5, and iPadOS 16.6 to individuals who are beta testing the current generation of Apple system software, rather than the next-generation iOS 17 beta, iPadOS 17 beta, and MacOS Sonoma 14 beta.
The release of beta 5 suggests the final version of iOS 16.6, iPadOS 16.6, and macOS Ventura 13.5 is coming relatively soon. No notable new features are expected in macOS Ventura 13.5, iPadOS 16.6, and iOS 16.6.
Users who are in the iOS 16/iPadOS 16 beta track can find the latest beta 5 update to download for 16.6 from Settings app > General > Software Update.
Mac users who are in the Ventura beta track can find macOS Ventura 13.5 beta 5 to download from the Apple menu > System Settings > General > Software Update.
Since Apple usually goes through several beta versions before releasing a final build to the public, and we are now on the 5th beta of iOS 16.6, iPadOS 16.6, and macOS Ventura 13.5, it’s reasonable to expect the final versions of these system software releases will arrive in the near future.
Currently, the latest stable builds of public system software are iOS 16.5.1, iPadOS 16.5.1, iOS 15.7.7, and iPadOS 15.7.7 MacOS Ventura 13.4.1, and macOS Monterey 12.6.7, macOS Big Sur 11.7.8. Apple had briefly released Rapid Response Security Updates for iOS, iPadOS, and MacOS, but those security response updates were pulled when they were found to cause problems connecting to some websites with the Safari browser.
The iOS 16.6, iPadOS 16.6, and macOS Ventura 13.5 beta tracks are concurrent with the iOS 17 beta, iPadOS 17 beta, and MacOS Sonoma 14 beta, though most beta testers are likely running the latter releases for obvious reasons.
