WatchOS 11 supported Apple Watch models

WatchOS 11 features some intriguing new capabilities for Apple Watch, particularly for health and fitness. With a new Vitals app, training load feature, customizations for and the ability to pause Activity rings, Translate app for Apple Watch, Cycle Tracking app, Smart Stack, customizations to the Photos face, and more, it’s easy to see why Apple Watch users are excited about the watchOS 11 software update.

But will your Apple Watch run watchOS 11? What are the supported Apple Watch models, and what are the requirements? Let’s dive in and find out.

WatchOS 11 Requires iPhone with iOS 18

The first system requirement that is necessary for watchOS 11 is that the iPhone paired with Apple Watch must be running iOS 18, and therefore must be able to run iOS 18.

Basically any iPhone newer than iPhone XR/XS or better is able to run iOS 18, check out the iOS 18 compatible iPhone list here if you’re not sure about your particular device.

WatchOS 11 Supported Apple Watch List

Assuming you have an iPhone that can run iOS 18, then your Apple Watch can run watchOS 11 if it’s one of the following device models, or newer:

  • Apple Watch SE (2nd generation)
  • Apple Watch Series 6
  • Apple Watch Series 7
  • Apple Watch Series 8
  • Apple Watch Series 9
  • Apple Watch Ultra
  • Apple Watch Ultra 2

As you can see the supported Apple Watch list is fairly strict, and if you have an older Apple Watch you might not be able to run watchOS 11 on that device.

Fortunately, Amazon frequently has great deals on Apple Watch models, so you can get a nice discount if you’re in the market to upgrade your wrist computer and activity tracker.

WatchOS 11 is expected to debut at the same time as iOS 18 this fall.
