macOS Sequoia has been officially released by Apple, and is now available to all Mac users. Versioned as MacOS 15.0, Sequoia takes its name from the famous big trees and national park in Apple’s home state of California.

macOS Sequoia brings some exciting new features to the Mac, most notable being iPhone Mirroring, an intriguing feature that allows you to control an iPhone from your Mac using the cursor and drag and drop files and photos easily between the devices. So many bugs with Mac OS 15.0?

    1. Sometimes (?) the screen doesn’t turn off according to “settings” customization.
    2. Sometimes (?) the hidden deck doesn’t show when cursor scrolled to the bottom of the screen.
    3. Sometimes (?) when awakening from sleep display brightness not adjusting automatically.

  2. Dirk says:

I installed 15 a couple days ago and it basically bricked my machine. Zoom and Citrix Workspace, the two apps I need for work, no longer work. I get continuous ‘Connection interrupted messages and it resets my session on Citrix.

Apple support informed me there is no way to roll back the OS to 14 on a M1 MacBook.

I would wait on upgrading until 15.1 is released.

    • expobill says:

      they are dead wrong,
I rebooted my MacBook Air m1 2 weeks ago then my Mac mini back to Monterey Saturday from Sequoia by:
      Erasing the drive,
Then installing a fresh install of Monterey from a use thumb drive,
Then migrated the time machine back up of Monterey
      as everything works great now.

Seems to me that apple support is now taught to lying tactics to get us to use the latest  product, such a shame they resort to this now.

      I hoped this helped!

      • Willy says:

This is correct, downgrading is possible and fairly easy if you have a Time Machine backup made with Ventura, Sonoma, etc then you can restore to that, or use a boot disk like expobill and do it that way.

  3. Doug says:

When switched on, the Mac Firewall in Sequoia blocks internet access. The only way to overcome this problem on my iMac is to switch off the firewall.

  4. W G S says:

I bit the bullet. This was arguably the smoothest and least disruptive update I can recall.
