FTC: OSXDaily is an affiliate partner with Amazon, meaning if you click a link and make a purchase, we may receive a small payment which goes towards keeping the site running.

Many of the “articles” on OSXDaily have turned into anything but a hint/help/howto, and rather disguised ads. At least flag what are absurdly obvious Amazon ads like some, not all, sites will. The Internet as a communications and human interaction device and tool is long gone, and a fact websites cannot operate on crowd sourced funding unless subsidized by the very ones responsible for the decay and commercialization of the Net. Its incredibly tough to stay current and relevant, I get it, but a site prophesying howto/hint/tips should make s distinct marker of when something is being sold, opposed to detailed, how to of what one may configure to turn off the constant “Sign in with Google” popups. Hey Joe, thanks for the feedback.
We label every Amazon deal article title with “Deals:” to make our deal roundups easy to identify. These aren’t big money makers by any means, but they do contribute to paying for some of the sites bills. If you have any suggestions on how to make it more obvious, we’d be welcome to hear it.
We do not use ‘Sign in with Google’ on anything, so if you are seeing that, it would be an error, or perhaps another site you’re using, or maybe even a browser plugin you have installed.
It’s increasingly tough to function as a free web content business with the modern web, and this remains a free site. We are primarily supported by ads but that model is being squeezed too. We are trying various things to see what works so that the site can remain online and available to all. Eventually we might try a subscription model (paid monthly/yearly membership), and if we can’t figure something out, we may have to close down completely since the revenue just isn’t there anymore. That would be a shame since we have been around since 2006! Unfortunately many other popular longstanding Apple sites (and tech sites in general) have faced similar situations and closed for good.
Anyway, appreciate the feedback, as always!
