Beta 2 of iOS 16.6, iPadOS 16.6, MacOS Ventura 13.5, Available for Testing
The second beta versions of iOS 16.6, iPadOS 16.6, and macOS Ventura 13.5 are now available to users who are actively participating in the beta testing programs for Apple system software. Typically dev betas roll out first and are soon followed by the same build as a public beta.
No major features or changes are expected in iOS 16.6, iPadOS 16.6, and macOS Ventura 13.5, and the updates will likely simply include some bug fixes and security enhancements.
iOS 17, iPadOS 17, and macOS 14 will debut next week at WWDC, so the amount of focus on the current generations of system software is probably not as significant as those major new releases.
If you’re a MacOS beta tester, you can find the macOS Ventura 13.5 beta 2 available to download now from the Apple menu > System Settings > General > Software Update.
If you’re an iOS or ipadOS beta tester, you can get the iOS/iPadOS 16.6 beta 2 from Settings app > General > Software Update.
Apple usually goes though a handful of beta releases before finalizing that system software release and making it available to the general public.
The most recent stable public versions of system software are currently iOS 16.5 for iPhone, iPadOS 16.5 for iPad, macOS Ventura 13.4 for Mac, macOS Monterey 12.6.6 and macOS Big Sur 11.7.7 for Mac, iOS 15.7.6 for older iPhone, and iPadOS 15.7.6 for older iPad devices.
