MacOS Catalina 10.15.2 Beta 2 Released for Testing
Apple has released the second beta version of MacOS Catalina 10.15.2 to Mac users enrolled in the MacOS beta testing program.
Beta testers typically will find a developer beta build released first, which is soon followed by the equivalent build as a public beta release.
MacOS Catalina 10.15.2 appears to focus on bug fixes and enhancements to the new Mac operating system, presumably improving the Catalina experience.
It’s unclear if any new features or major changes are coming in macOS 10.15.2, but conceivably the update may address some of the lingering problems with MacOS Catalina that are reported by some Mac users.
For those who are enrolled in the Mac beta system software testing program, you can find the MacOS Catalina 10.15.2 beta 2 release available now from the “Software Update” section of System Preferences.
Apple usually goes through a handful of beta builds before issuing a final version to the general public, so while no precise release timeline is known, it’s reasonable to expect the final version will be out before years end.
Where does one report bugs in the Finder or in Preview? I found a bug-report page… which doesn’t include these. Sheesh.
Example: At 10.15.1, moving a file to the trash can cause open folders to suddenly decide to display the toolbar.
My only issue has been Safari with certain web pages and getting the warning that “this page is using significant energy” I’ve seen Activity Monitor peg heavily with Safari and CPU cycles. Once causing my MacBook Air to literally just turn off. A big problem with new MacBook Air is the passive cooling, yeah it’s got a fan but that’s not cooling a heat sink. It’s just circulating air in chassis. Not real effective. Safari always been efficient so not sure what’s causing the CPU spikes? I don’t have any extensions installed or Flash player.
