Mac Setups: Traveling MacBook Pro on a Rooftop in Goa, India
For those of us up north battling the cold winter, this Mac setup at sunset is sure to inspire some envy. Reader Pavel G is spending his winter in balmy Goa, India, and set up a desk on the rooftop of a house near the beach. Here’s the hardware he’s using to be productive while beachside in the sunny tropics:
- MacBook Pro 15″
- iPhone 4
- Magic Trackpad
- German Maestro headphones
We post a lot of Mac setups with tons of fancy desks and great hardware, but some of my favorites are these untraditional workstations, ranging from tents in Australia, to boats in Germany, or motorcycles in the middle of the American southwest. Keep ’em coming!

Hey Pavel, nice photo.
I’m heading to Goa tomorrow. I’m a Macbook using software guy also.
Any advice on which 3G provider to go with?
I’ve looked at BSNL. Seems cheap enough.
Maybe catch you for a beer :)
nice pic :)
+30… mozno tolko pozavidovat :)
this photo looks unreal :)
I like the setup and the rooftop setting is nice. What is the temperature there right now?
+30 at the daytime. Cooler at nignt.
Thank you.
Haha, this really sucks. We have -11°C at the moment. Sun, temperature above 20°C and MacBook Pro with Internet connection… this sounds like paradise…
As long as there is high speed internet, take me to the sun!
Likely tethered 3G. There isn’t much broadband infrastructure in India, but plenty of cell towers.
I have broadband (“BSNL” provider). It’s ADSL modem + WiFi router. Not very speedy, not stable, not cheap as in Europe, but still more than enough to keep the work running.
And yes, 3G modems here work just fine.
Nice setup ¡¡¡
