How to Edit Videos on iPhone & iPad

Do you want to trim or shorten some of the video clips you shot with your iPhone or iPad camera? Maybe you want to apply some video adjustments or filters? Well, you’ll be pleased to know that you don’t need to install a third-party video editing app from the App Store, nor do you even need to run iMovie, as simple video editing is available directly in iOS and iPadOS.

The default Photos app that’s baked into iPhone and iPad has allowed users to trim video clips for quite a while now. And with modern iOS and iPadOS versions, Apple has overhauled the video editing experience on the iPhone and iPad by letting users take advantage of the photo enhancement tools for editing videos as well. This almost eliminates the need to rely on a third-party video editor to perform some basic editing tasks on your iOS or iPadOS device.

So, wondering how to perform some simple video edits on iPhone or iPad? Then read along!

  6. Next, we have the filters section. It’s identical to how you’d add a filter to a photo, so we don’t think you need any further explanation on how to use it. There are a total of ten filters to choose from, just like you did in the previous version of iOS. However, this time around, you can adjust the intensity of each and every filter by using the slider right below them.
