Beta 1 of iOS 14.6 & iPadOS 14.6 Available for Testing
Apple has released the first beta versions of iOS 14.6 for iPhone, iPadOS 14.6 for iPad, and watchOS 7.5 for Apple Watch. This comes a day after issuing the first beta of macOS Big Sur 11.4 to Mac testers.
The beta period of iOS 14.6 and iPadOS 14.6 begins before the public release of iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5, which is currently in RC build, but is set to launch to the broad public next week.
It’s not yet clear what the focus of iOS 14.6 or iPadOS 14.6 will be, but typically bug fixes and small enhancements to the operating system are par for the course.
Users enrolled in the beta testing programs can find iOS 14.6 beta available to download now via the Software Update mechanism on their iPhone or iPad.
Currently the beta build is available for developers, but is usually soon followed by the same build arriving for public beta testers as well.
Currently iOS 14.4.2 and iPadOS 14.4.2 remain the most up-to-date version of system software available for iPhone and iPad.
Apple has said that iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 will be available next week.
