iOS 15 Beta 2 & iPadOS 15 Beta 2 Released to Download
Apple has released the second beta version of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15. Both iOS 15 beta 2 and iPadOS 15 beta 2 are available to download now for users enrolled in the developer beta testing programs. The public beta program is not yet available.
iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 include a variety of new features and improvements that are being worked on in the beta builds, including bringing new features to FaceTime like screen sharing and grid view of participants, a redesigned Weather app for iPhone, a Focus feature for Do Not Disturb, redesigned Notifications, redesigned Safari tabs and tab grouping, Safari extensions, the ability to select text within photos and images with Live Text, improvements to Maps and Health app, changes to Photos, Music, Spotlight, and more. iPadOS 15 includes the iOS 15 features plus some iPad specific features, including the ability to place widgets anywhere on the home screen.
To download the second beta of iOS 15 or iPadOS 15, the devie must be enrolled in the beta testing program. Currently the beta program is available for developers, you can learn how to install iOS 15 beta and install iPadOS 15 beta if you are unfamiliar with that process.
How to Download iOS 15 Beta 2 / iPadOS 15 Beta 2
Always backup your device before updating system software, beta or otherwise.
- Open the “Settings” app on iPhone or iPad
- Go ‘General’ then to “Software Update”
- Choose to download and install iOS 15 beta 2 or iPadOS 15 beta 2
The iPhone or iPad will reboot to complete installation of the latest beta.
What iPhones can update to iOS 15?

What iPads can update to iPadOS 15?
iPadOS 15 is compatible with all iPad Pro models, iPad 5th generation and later, iPad Mini 5th generation and newer, iPad Air 3rd generation and newer.

Will will iOS 15 & iPadOS 15 be released as final?
The release dates for iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 are expected to be sometime in fall of 2021. This is according to Apple, who announced the rough timeline at WWDC 2021. Until then, beta versions will be available for users enrolled in the beta testing programs.

Separate from beta 2 of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, Apple also released updates to other beta versions of system software, including macOS Monterey beta 2, watchOS 8 beta 2, and tvOS 15 beta 2.
