Apple has released the fifth beta versions of iOS 14.7, iPadOS 14.7, and macOS Big Sur 11.5 to users enrolled in the beta testing programs for Apple system software. Fifth beta builds of tvOS 14.7 and watchOS 7.6 are also available.

iOS 14.7, iPadOS 14.7, and macOS Big Sur 11.5 appear to focus on bug fixes to current system software versions, and no new features are expected in the releases.

These releases are separate from the concurrent beta testing programs for the upcoming major releases of system software, including iOS 15, ipadOS 15, and macOS 12 Monterey.

People who are participating in the beta testing programs can download the latest updates on iPhone and iPad by going to Settings > General > Software Update, where they’ll find iOS 14.7 beta 5 and iPadOS 14.7 beta 5 – unless they are running the other beta track of iOS 15 and iPadOS 15.

For macOS, the macOS Big Sur 11.5 beta 5 update is available to download in  > System Preferences > Software Update, also with the exception of users running the Monterey beta.

Apple Watch and Apple TV beta testers can also update with the latest beta versions using their respective Settings apps.

Apple typically goes through several beta versions before issuing a final version, so it’s likely iOS 14.7, iPadOS 14.7, and macOS 11.5 will be released to the public in the not too distant future.

Of course if you’re currently running iOS 15 public beta or MacOS Monterey public beta, you will not see the beta versions (or final versions of iOS 14.7, iPadOS 14.7, or macOS Big Sur 11.5) available.

Hi – hope everyone is both safe and sane. I generally do not even look at these articles concerning Betas and speculations as to what is to come. I have only one iMac and one iPad and one iPhone and do not have the expertise necessary to fool with them – computers have become more and more black box over the more than 50 years I have used them. But I do appreciate those who do risk their own Apple products to try out these new things. I seldom find the new iterations of the Apple operating system to be the new and exciting things touted but I guess Apple has to try to keep us interested.
