iOS 16 beta and iPadOS 16 beta

Apple has released iOS 16 beta 3 and iPadOS 16 beta 3 to uses participating in the developer beta testing programs for Apple system software.

The new builds are available now for anyone who has installed iOS 16 beta or iPadOS 16 beta onto their iPhone or iPad, respectively.

iPhone and iPad users who are currently enrolled in the beta testing program can find iOS 16 beta 3 and iPadOS 16 beta 3 available to download now from Settings app > General > Software Update.

Both iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 include a variety of new features, including new Focus mode capabilities, the ability to edit iMessages, new features in Mail app including scheduled sending of emails, improvements to the Maps app, Photos and iCloud Photos Library changes, and much more.

iOS 16 also includes a redesigned Lock Screen that is customizable and allows for multiple different Lock Screens that change with Focus mode.

iPadOS 16 also features a newly redesigned multitasking interface, called Stage Manager, that is only available on iPad hardware with an M1 CPU or better.

Beta system software is notoriously buggy and unreliable, and therefore not appropriate for most users to install on their devices. Developer betas are intended for those users who develop software for Apple platforms, and not for average users.

If you’re a more casual user who is interested in running iOS 16 or iPadOS 16 beta system software, waiting for the public beta to be released in the near future is a better idea. You can prepare for that by looking at the list of iOS 16 compatible iPhones and iPadOS 16 compatible iPhone models.

Apple has said the final versions of iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 will be available to all users this fall.

Additionally, a third beta version of macOS Ventura 13 is available to those in the developer beta testing program.

It’s not showing the beta for me, it just says my software is up to date so I can’t upgrade to the public beta 3.
