3rd Public Beta of MacOS 27 Golden Gate, iOS 27, iPadOS 27, Available for Testing
The third beta versions of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and MacOS 27 Golden Gate, are now available to public beta testers. These match the same builds as the just released MacOS 27 beta 5 and iOS 27 beta 5 versions for developers.

Another option for Mac users is to explore the beta by installing it into a virtual machine which lets you run MacOS 27 within a self-contained app rather than as your primary operating system.
Apple is focusing on performance enhancements and general improvements for iOS 27, MacOS 27, and iPadOS 27, including focusing on Spotlight, refinements to app icons, refinements to the Liquid Glass interface, improvements to general system performance, new Siri AI features, a dedicated Siri app, and more.
How to Update to MacOS 27 Golden Gate Public Beta 3
If your Mac is already running the MacOS 27 public beta, getting the new build is easy:
- From the  Apple menu, go to “System Settings” and then to “General”
- Go to “Software Update”
- Choose to install “MacOS 27 Golden Gate Public Beta 3”
Your Mac must restart to finish installation.
How to Update to iOS 27 Public Beta 3 on iPhone or iPad
Assuming you’re already running the public beta, here’s how to get the latest build:
- Open “Settings” app, then to “General” and to “Software Update”
- Install the “iOS 27 Public Beta 3” update
As usual, your iPhone or iPad will have to restart to complete installation.
If you’re already running the latest developer betas, there is no reason to try and get the same build as a public beta. With that said, you can switch between the developer beta and public beta release schedule if you’d like to, but there’s not much reason to do so.
The final versions of macOS 27 Golden Gate, iOS 27, and ipadOS 27, will be released this fall, according to Apple.
