iOS 15.7.1 & iPadOS 15.7.1 Released with Security Updates
Apple has released updates for iPhone and iPad users who continue to run the iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 operating systems. The updates are versioned as iOS 15.7.1 and iPadOS 15.7.1 for iPhone and iPad, respectively.
These updates are available separately from the freshly released iPadOS 16.1 for iPad and iOS 16.1 for iPhone, and are available either for users who are unable to install iOS/iPadOS 16 on their devices, or who do not yet want to.
The majority of iPhone and iPad users should install the 16.1 releases since they offer new features, but for those staying put, installing iOS 15.7.1 offers important security updates to their devices.
How to Download & Update to iOS 15.7.1 & iPadOS 15.7.1
Always backup the iPhone or iPad to iCloud, Finder, or iTunes before starting a software update.
- Open the “Settings” app on iPhone or iPad
- Go to “General”
- Go to “Software Update”
- Choose to “Download and Install” for iOS 15.7.1 or iPadOS 15.7.1 (you may need to scroll down in the Software Update settings to see iOS 15.7.1 as available)
Installing the updates requires the iPhone or iPad to restart, as usual.
Optionally, users can install the updates through a computer with Finder, iTunes, or by using IPSW files from Apple.

There are also updates available for Apple Watch, Apple TV, and the Mac with macOS Ventura 13.0, macOS Monterey 12.6.1, and macOS BIg Sur 11.7.1.
And idea if 15.7.1 is the final version? I’m running it and few days ago phone notified an update available. Only option is 16.1.1 I’m waiting until 16.1.2 to see if it 15.something shows as optional.
