MacOS Ventura 13.6 & MacOS Monterey 12.7 Updates Released
Apple has released macOS Ventura 13.6 to Mac users running the Ventura operating system, along with macOS Monterey 12.7 for Mac users running Monterey. The updates include important security fixes and are therefore recommended for all MacOS users to update to.
Separately, Apple has also released a series of security updates for nearly every other operating system in their lineup, including iOS 17.0.1, iPadOS 17.0.1, iOS 16.7, iPadOS 16.7, and updates to watchOS 10.0.1 and watchOS 9.6.3. Mac beta testers will also find a new RC build of macOS Sonoma.
How to Download & Install MacOS Ventura 13.6 / macOS Monterey 12.7 Update
First, back up your Mac with Time Machine. Then installing the update is simple:
- Go to the Apple menu, and choose “System Settings” (Ventura) or “System Preferences” (Monterey)
- Choose “General” (Ventura)
- Go to “Software Update”
- Choose to “Update Now” for macOS Ventura 13.6 / macOS Monterey 12.7 to download and install the security update on the Mac
Whether you install macOS Monterey 12.7 or macOS Ventura 13.6, the Mac will need to restart to complete installation.
Remember, if you’re actively running macOS Sonoma, you will not see any updates to Ventura or Monterey available, but you will instead see a new RC build of Sonoma.
