iOS 18.4 Update with Ambient Music, New Emoji, Priority Notifications, Mail Categorization for iPad, Released
Apple has released iOS 18.4 for iPhone, along with iPadOS 18.4 for iPad. These updates include a few new features, as well as bug fixes and security enhancements.
iOS 18.4 for iPhone includes new emoji icons, an ambient music generator, a Priority Notifications feature for Apple Intelligence, and various bug fixes and security patches.
iPadOS 18.4 for iPad includes the introduction of the controversial Mail Categorizations feature from iPhone to sort your email inbox for you, ambient music generation, new emoji icons, Priority Notifications, and fixes for various bugs and security issues.
You will also find MacOS Sequoia 15.4 available for Mac, along with updates to macOS Sonoma, macOS Ventura, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS.
How to Download & Install iOS 18.4 / iPadOS 18.4 Update
First, backup your iPhone or iPad to iCloud or a computer. After your device is backed up, you can update iOS easily:
- Open the “Settings” app on iPhone or iPad
- Go to “General” and then go to “Software Update”
- Choose to “Update Now” to download and install iOS 18.4 / iPadOS 18.4
The iPhone or iPad will have to restart to finish installation of the system software update.
Optionally, you can update your iPhone or iPad by connecting the device to a Mac or PC, or by using IPSW firmware files which can be downloaded directly from Apple.
