iOS 26.0.1 Update Released to Fix Various iPhone 17 Issues, & Blank Screen Icons
Apple has released the first update for iOS 26.0.1, which includes a handful of bug fixes specifically aimed at the new iPhone 17 lineup, as well as addressing an issue for all devices where Home Screen icons can appear blank after using various Liquid Glass customization settings, and another issue where VoiceOver might disable itself after updating to iOS 26.
The iOS 26.0.1 update is available for all devices, but if you have an iPhone 17, iPhone Air, or iPhone 17 Pro, you’ll definitely want to install this update right away because it fixes a problem with cellular connectivity, wi-fi disconnections, bluetooth disconnecting, and the camera where photos would have unusual artifacts. iPadOS 26.0.1 also fixes a bug where the onscreen keyboard could float in the wrong position.
Updates to other Apple operating systems are also available, including iOS 18.7.1, iPadOS 18.7.1, macOS Tahoe 26.0.1, macOS Sequoia 15.7.1, macOS Sonoma 14.8.1, watchOS 26.0.2, visionOS 26.0.1, and tvOS 26.0.1.
How to Download & Install iOS 26.0.1 / iPadOS 26.0.1 Update
As usual, start by backing up iPhone or iPad to iCloud and then proceed with the update itself:
- Open the “Settings” app on your iPhone or iPad
- Go to “General” and then to “Software Update”
- Choose to “Update Now” to download and install iOS 26.0.1 onto iPhone or iPadOS 26.0.1 on iPad
If you’re still running iOS 18, you will find iOS 18.7.1 available as an update instead, just be cautious not to accidentally install iOS 26 as you proceed with that update.
The iOS 26.0.1 update is relatively small and should install quickly, but requires a device reboot to complete as usual.
You can also choose to update your iPhone or iPad with a computer, or by using IPSW firmware files for manual updates with a computer, the latter of which is considered more advanced.
