MacOS Tahoe 26.6 update is available for Mac

Apple has released MacOS Tahoe 26.6 for Mac users running the Tahoe operating system. The update is primarily focused on security fixes, and includes 8 new Emoji icons. Don’t expect any major changes or features, as those are instead arriving in the currently under beta MacOS 27.

For Mac users running MacOS Sequoia and MacOS Sonoma, you will find security updates available for those Macs as well as macOS Sequoia 15.7.8 and macOS Sonoma 14.8.8.

Separately, Apple has also released iOS 26.6 for iPhone, iPadOS 26.6 for iPad, and a bevy of other software updates for Apple devices as well.

Note that if you have already installed MacOS 27 Golden Gate beta, you will not find the MacOS Tahoe 26.6 update available on your Mac.

I’d update to golden gate if more software worked with it. Everyone here acts like it’s perfect and bug free but not everyone can put up with the constant tiny issues it has.

Hugh problems getting imovie to work after Tahoe 26.6 update – literally hours of frustration – at my wits end – almost decided to delete my imovie app and download again from the app store but after deleting Giga bytes of caches finally imovie showed signs of stabilising – half a hour later a Final Cut Pro ad suddenly appeared in my imovie project and up comes the beach ball again for the umpteenth time – whats going on – this is not what I expect from Apple 👎🏻

  3. Bob Chase says:

Why is anyone, especially Apple, spending time and money on something as totally useless as new emojis? It would be mot interesting to see a use analysis of all the emojis now available.
