You Can Jailbreak iOS 8.1.2 with TaiG
Users who are interested in jailbreaking their iPhones and iPads will find that iOS 8.1.2 can be jailbroken using an updated version of the TaIG tool. The new version of TaiG came almost immediately after the release of iOS 8.1.2, which apparently does not patch the method utilized by the jailbreaking utility.
Jailbreaking is unsupported and generally best reserved for advanced iOS users. Apple does not approve of jailbreaks for a variety of reasons.
The latest version of TaIG supports jailbreaking any device that can run iOS 8.1.2, including the newest iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s / 5c / 5, iPhone 4s, iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad 4, and any prior model that also runs the newest iOS version. As with prior versions of TaiG, the utility is currently only available for the Windows operating system, which means a PC and USB cable would be necessary to install the jailbreak onto an iOS device. Once the iPhone or iPad has been successfully jailbroken with the TaiG tool, the jailbreak remains untethered and would no longer require a Windows PC. Mac users can still use the TaIG utility to jailbreak their devices if they have a Windows virtual machine or Boot Camp to run the app from.
Users who are interested can find the latest version here on the TaiG website. Currently the TaIG for iOS 8.1.2 utility is offered in Chinese, but using the tool seems fairly straight forward even for users who are unable to read the Chinese characters. A version translated into English is apparently in the works, as well as a version for Mac users running OS X.
Apple may refuse warranty service for devices that have jailbroken software installed on them. Generally speaking, only technically advanced users who understand the risks and entire process should attempt to jailbreak their iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch hardware. Regardless, always complete a back up before attempting to modify system software.
I used this. And everything I try to use in cydiA doesn’t work. I’ve tried multiple things and nothing works. Can someone help me?
Thanks for sharing, I’ve done it, please tell me are iOS 8.1.1 supported tweaks and apps also support iOS 8.1.2? or should I wait to developers to update their tweaks?
If I used this and its in Chinese when it jailbreaks my phone wont my cydia be in Chinese also? Why isnt there an english version of this?
The TaiG group first makes jailbreaks available not in english because the TaiG group is based out of China, and jailbreaking is very popular in China. They typically create a translated version, and a Mac OS X version, in short order after the initial release comes out for their primary audience.
It’s the same reason that US based groups tend to release things in english first, you develop first in what you know and then adapt it to others.
Thanks man! Thank you so much!
What games can I play on this?
I find it interesting that Apple released a patch, with security updates, that did not fix the jailbreak.
I also find it interesting that Apple commonly adopts features that jailbreak developers create first and then displays those features as new with many iOS releases.
Is there a relationship between jailbreaking and Apple beyond the cat and mouse game? Maybe it’s an unofficial forum to see what is possible in public eyes? I think Apple has hired jailbreak developers and Cydia app developers before to work on their iOS teams, right?
Just a thought, probably nothing to it. I personally do not jailbreak anymore, but it’s always interesting to see what comes out of the hacker crowds.
I guess what I’m hinting at here is that maybe Apple likes to see what jailbreakers come up with and use it as a hiring mechanism? Is that a crazy idea?
Do you believe that Apple needs such developers to incorporate some widgets made of built-in functions? They just embrace the improvement. If it’s worthy.
