iOS 12.4 Beta 6 & macOS 10.14.6 Beta 4 Released for Testing
Apple has released new beta builds for iOS 12.4 and MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 for users who are beta testing current release of iOS and MacOS. These beta releases are separate from the ongoing beta testing of iOS 13 / iPadOS 13 and MacOS Catalina 10.15.
iOS 12.4 beta 6 is available to download now from the Software Update section of the Settings app for devices enrolled in the iOS 12 beta program.
MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 is available to download now from the Software Update system preference panel for Macs enrolled in the MacOS Mojave beta testing program.
Neither MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 or iOS 12.4 are expected to have any major new changes or features, and are likely bug fix releases with security enhancements. It’s possible these beta versions of iOS and macOS will also support the Apple Card credit card that is due out this summer as well.
Apple usually goes through a variety of beta builds before issuing a final version to the general public, and thus it’s reasonable to expect that iOS 12.4 final will be released sometime in the near future. Similarly, it’s probable that MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 will arrive at or near the same timeline.
Separately, Apple is continuing to beta test iOS 13, iPadOS 13, and MacOS Catalina 10.15, each of which includes various new features and changes to the respective operating systems. Currently those releases are at iOS 13 and iPadOS 13 public beta 2 / iOS 13 & iPadOS 13 developer beta 3, and MacOS Catalina 10.15 public beta 2 / Catalina developer beta 3. iOS 13, iPadOS 13, and MacOS Catalina 10.15 are expected to launch this fall.
