new iOS 27.2 and MacOS 27.2 betas are out

Apple has issued the first Release Candidate builds of iOS 27.2, MacOS 27.2 Golden Gate, and iPadOS 27.2, for users who are in the beta testing program for Apple system software. A Release Candidate (RC) build typically matches the final version of the beta testing process, absent any last minute issues or changes.

Aside from the RC designation, it is highly likely that iOS 27.2, MacOS 27.2 Golden Gate, and iPadOS 27.2 will be finalized in the near future, because Apple just announced another event next week.

iOS 27.2 includes support for using Siri AI in several new languages and regions, includes a redesigned Health app with Longevity and Insights scores that gather from Apple Watch, and presumably bug fixes and security enhancements as well. It’s also likely that MacOS 27.2 Golden Gate, and ipadOS 27.2 will also include bug fixes and improvements.

If you’re enrolled in the beta testing programs, you can find the release candidate builds of iPadOS 27.2 and iOS 27.2 in Settings > General > Software Update, and for MacOS 27.2 RC in System Settings > General > Software Update.

And yes it does seem that iOS 27.1, macOS 27.1, and iPadOS 27.1 are being skipped, or perhaps those versions are set to be included in hardware released in the interim period, like the iPhone Duo, and new MacBook Pro models, which will then get the final versions of iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, and MacOS 27.2, along with the rest of us.

The latest stable versions of system software are currently iOS 27.0.1, iPadOS 27.0.1, and MacOS 27.0.1 Golden Gate.
