How to Add Photos to Apple Watch
Did you know that you can store photos and view them on your Apple Watch? This is a feature that can be handy if you want quick access to your favorite album, or if you like to set photos as custom watch faces. Thankfully, this can be done within seconds.
Apple Watch offers the ability to store photos using its built-in physical storage space. These photos can be viewed even if the watch isn’t actively connected to the paired iPhone. Of course, viewing photos on such a tiny screen may not be ideal, but some users like to personalize their watch faces with their favorite photos, or perhaps you just always want some pictures on you even if they’re displayed on a smaller screen size. Although you can’t transfer every photo from your iPhone to Apple Watch, you can sync all the photos from a single album.
How to Add & Sync Photos Album to Apple Watch
We’ll be making use of the Watch app that’s pre-installed on your iPhone to sync photos to your Apple Watch. Simply follow the steps below to get started.
- Launch the Watch app from the home screen of your iPhone.
- This will take you to the My Watch section. Here, scroll down and tap on the Photos app to continue.
- Now, you’ll be able to access the photo syncing options. Tap on “Selected Photo Album” to proceed further.
- Next, just select the photo album that you want to store on your Apple Watch and you’re good to go.
There you go. You’ve successfully managed to add photos stored in a specific album to your Apple Watch.
Now, if you open the Photos app on your Apple Watch, all the photos stored in that particular synced album will show up immediately on your wearable. You can scroll through them to view or even use one of them to create a custom photo watch face.
Unfortunately, you cannot sync photos individually to your Apple Watch. Therefore, before you go ahead with these steps, you’ll need to first add the photos you want to transfer to a specific album on your iPhone.
By default, the Favorites album is selected as the synced album for your Apple Watch. This means that all the photos you have favorited in the iOS Photos app will be automatically added to your Apple Watch. You can change the synced album to “None” if you want to remove all the photos stored on your watch.
It’s important to note that there’s a limit on how many photos you can store on your Apple Watch. If you sync a photo album that has more photos that the limit set for your Apple Watch storage, some of the photos will be left out. This photo limit can be increased if necessary, but regardless of what Apple Watch model you own, you can only store a limited number of photos.
