Tweeten is the Best TweetDeck Alternative for Mac
If you’re a Twitter power user and you long for the features of the now defunct TweetDeck, you’ll be happy to know there’s an excellent free alternative to TweetDeck available, called Tweeten.
You’ll immediately be familiar with the Tweeten interface, because it looks basically just like TweetDeck.
Obviously we’re Mac-centric here, but Tweeten is actually available for Windows as well as MacOS, and through the Chrome store, so even if you’re not a Mac user you can still appreciate the TweetDeck clone experience with Tweeten.
The only downside I’ve experienced to Tweeten so far is there is not an ability to disable the auto-playing of GIFs, which can cause the Tweeten app to use more CPU and energy than expected, so if you’re on a laptop and you’re battery conscious you may want to be aware of letting it sit in the background idle if you follow people who tweet gifs often.
You can also use TweetDeck on the web if you’d prefer to use TweetDeck and miss it terribly. And, if that’s your thing (which is understandable), you can even turn the TweetDeck web client into a desktop app by using Chrome, or Fluid, or similar tools.
Anyway, happy Twitter power user times with Tweeten. Whether you’re using Twitter for work, business, managing a social media presence, research, analysis, or you’re just a personal Twitter aficionado, Tweeten is there for you.
Tweeten hasn’t been developed or seen commits since 2021.
But it works well.
Do you have an alternative?
